what is “CSA”? CSA is a unique relationship between farmers and eaters.

CSA stands for "Community Supported Agriculture." As a member, you join in the community of our farm and pay an upfront fee. In return, during the farming season, you come to the farm each week to pick out a weekly share of fresh, tasty, nutrient-packed produce at an excellent value. CSA benefits us by guaranteeing a market for our produce throughout the season, and it helps us out early in the year, when we need money to buy seeds and supplies. In return, our members get a great value on the farm's produce; the satisfaction of engaging directly with the food they eat and the people who grow it; and a community of likeminded eaters.

Farmers and farm members share in the risks and bounty of each season.

Depending on weather, pests, and disease, we may have a bumper crop of one vegetable, less of another, or even a complete crop failure. It is important to us that our members feel good about each week's share, and we do our best to reduce risk by planting a diversity of crops and keeping the soil fed and healthy--the best prevention for bugs and disease. That said, there are always risks in farming, especially when it comes to the unpredictable Minnesota weather! It's important to note that in the event of severe weather or uncontrollable circumstances, produce is not guaranteed.
