join us as a working share member!
We love involving members more deeply in the rhythms of food production by offering Working Share Memberships. Throughout the farm season, you offer your willing hands and enthusiasm, and we offer a reduced price on your CSA share and a community meal after your work shift.
LEND YOUR HANDS. REDUCE THE COST OF YOUR SHARE. PARTICIPATE MORE FULLY IN THE LIFE OF your community-supported FARM.
Working Share shifts are Wednesdays from 9 am-noon, followed by a farm lunch for all. The Working Share season runs from June through October, and you will sign up for shifts of your choosing at the beginning of the season.
Depending on which size share you want, and/or your availability, we have three options:
- Full Working Share: You pay $200 towards your CSA share and volunteer for 13 working shifts
- Three-quarters Working Share: You pay $150 towards your CSA share and volunteer for 10 working shifts
- Half Working Share: You pay $100 towards your CSA share and volunteer for 7 working shifts
What is required to be a working share member?
Enthusiasm, a commitment to showing up for your shifts, and the ability to complete tiring physical work for three hours in any weather conditions.
Working Share members will be doing field work, which will inevitably be a lot of weeding, so please be prepared for that!
If two adults from your household want to come and work, some or all of the time, that's great and will count as two shifts fulfilled. But if you're interested in bringing guests (friends, neighbors, etc), they are always welcome; however it will still just count as one shift, because we're aiming for consistency and not having to train new folks each time.
Please note that we expect you to be able to work for the full three hours, so we discourage bringing kids under the age of 12 unless you're sure they can entertain themselves and not detract from your work time. Please be in touch if you have questions about this guideline.
